If you've arrived at this page, you are one of the select few to receive the special Crush Collection to kick off 2022! As the letter stated, here you can find a little more information about each of these wines to help you enjoy them with family, friends and festivities!
The Beau Vigne is one of our favorite whites we’ve offered since we launched the Crush Collection. A typical white Bordeaux is Sauvignon Blanc with a little Semillon added. The Sémillon adds richness to the crisp Sauvignon Blanc and together they deliver floral, tropical fruit and citrus aromas with a hint of vanilla. This wine is a perfect accompaniment to a cheese plate. Check out the tasting notes video here and you can read more about Bordeaux Blanc wine style here.
We chose to include the Pivot Merlot because we believe it showcases some of the classic notes to expect in the often under-rated Merlot. It is one of the main red varietals included in a red Bordeaux from France, especially those from the right bank regions of Saint Émilion and Pomerol. This wine is full of bright red fruits like strawberry and cherry along with a velvet mouth feel! It has a long finish and will benefit from about 30 minutes of decanting. It’s a versatile wine that can pair with anything from a vegetarian dish to a steak. Find the tasting notes video here.
I'll also mention that for this wine we created our own label. The name 'Pivot' was our producer’s clever idea because we've all gotten used to pivoting sine 2020. With that name in mind, our graphic designer created the label to illustrate the many faces of pivoting.
A Bordeaux-theme wouldn’t be complete without the popular Cabernet Sauvignon, and this Orinda Hayes is delicious! Like Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon is a main component of most red Bordeaux’s, but it’s more abundant in wines from the famous left bank regions of Margaux, Pauillac, St-Estèphe and St. Julien. This wine has alluring aromas of ripe blueberries, black cherry, star anise and baking spices that make this Cabernet Sauvignon the perfect choice for both those new to wine and those who are seasoned Cab lovers! Check out the "Pair with Mere" recipe to go with this wine here.
We hope you enjoy these wines and the occasions you pair with them! Cheers!
