Aperitivo hour is an Italian tradition where friends and family connect to share cocktails and small bites to prepare the palate for the meal to come. Often spritzers and Prosecco are served with antipasti. It’s the perfect way to connect with a couple friends and/or family or even make it a special evening for just you and your partner.
Since bubbles do love salt, we create a platter with a few salty snacks like olives and Parmigianino-Reggiano, which also connects us to Italian flavors. But a few other ideas are truffle potato chips, popcorn or assorted salted nuts.
Another bite we prepared to go with the Litorrai Prosecco are prosciutto, fig & mascarpone crostini’s. Here’s how to put these together:
1. Cut a baguette into ½ inch slices and bake at 350°F for about 5-7 minutes depending on the desired crispness
2. Let cool slightly
3. Spread mascarpone on the toast, then add a dollop of fig jam and top with a rolled slice of prosciutto and repeat.
4. Take a bite and then a sip of the Litorrai Prosecco to experience a party in your mouth!
